The show.

Doors at seven-thirty. Runway at eight-fifteen. In between: a runway show, a live art auction and a Jewish room on Broad Street that looks like the whole diaspora — sheitels and swimwear, sabras and Syrians, a Yemenite bride gown next to a neoprene one-piece.

Léman
Ballroom.

41 Broad Street · Financial District

A landmark address in the Financial District, steps from the New York Stock Exchange. Two-story fluted columns, original murals down the length of the walls, and a full proscenium stage at the end of the room.

The Léman Ballroom, fluted columns and murals

Ocean-liner murals run the length of the room. The columns alone are worth the seat — and the runway runs straight down the middle of it, close enough to touch.

The New York recap follows the same room energy — full runway, live performance, an art auction floor.

The runway
Down the centre

Column to column, doors to back wall. Seating on both sides, nobody more than three rows out.

The light
Rigged and staged

A full truss already hangs over the floor and a proscenium stage closes the room — the stone takes warm light the way a studio never does.

Why this exists

It started as
a joke on
a t-shirt.

I printed “I ♥ Jewish Girls” on a shirt in Mexico City because it made me laugh. Then people started wearing it in Tel Aviv, in Brooklyn, in Paris — and it stopped being a joke.

Jewish fashion existed everywhere and belonged nowhere. Modest designers were kept out of runway rooms. Israeli labels were introduced by their politics before their clothes. So we built the room ourselves: Miami in May, New York in September, Los Angeles next spring.

Nobody has to explain themselves at the door.

Alejandro Glatt — founder

The first Mexican artist to send work to the Moon, with exhibitions including the Louvre in Paris.
