The Israeli cantor and Broadway star — Jean Valjean in Les Misérables on Broadway and in the West End, and the first to play the role while keeping Shabbat. He opens the night with Hatikvah and closes the runway with Jerusalem of Gold.
Presented with
New York is presented by The House of Faith & Fashion by Tobi Rubinstein and co-produced with EPN Fashion Week.
The show.
Doors at seven-thirty. Runway at eight-fifteen. In between: a runway show, a live art auction and a Jewish room on Broad Street that looks like the whole diaspora — sheitels and swimwear, sabras and Syrians, a Yemenite bride gown next to a neoprene one-piece.

41 Broad Street · Financial District
A landmark address in the Financial District, steps from the New York Stock Exchange. Two-story fluted columns, original murals down the length of the walls, and a full proscenium stage at the end of the room.
Ocean-liner murals run the length of the room. The columns alone are worth the seat — and the runway runs straight down the middle of it, close enough to touch.
From last year, Miami
The New York recap follows the same room energy — full runway, live performance, an art auction floor.
The runway
Down the centre
Column to column, doors to back wall. Seating on both sides, nobody more than three rows out.
The light
Rigged and staged
A full truss already hangs over the floor and a proscenium stage closes the room — the stone takes warm light the way a studio never does.
Getting there
Wall St · Broad St
2, 3, 4, 5, J and Z within two blocks. Doors 7:30 PM, runway 8:15 PM.
A landmark room in the Financial District, eighteen houses, a live art auction and press already booked. Miami was the first Jewish runway in Swim Week history — New York is the first at Fashion Week.
I printed “I ♥ Jewish Girls” on a shirt in Mexico City because it made me laugh. Then people started wearing it in Tel Aviv, in Brooklyn, in Paris — and it stopped being a joke.
Jewish fashion existed everywhere and belonged nowhere. Modest designers were kept out of runway rooms. Israeli labels were introduced by their politics before their clothes. So we built the room ourselves: Miami in May, New York in September, Los Angeles next spring.
Nobody has to explain themselves at the door.
